A rerun per my July 5th, 2009 note to you all. It is edited quite a bit. Originally posted September 3, 2005.

Many of you are probably unaware that just a mouse-click away is a .wav file featuring the St. Brendan’s 5th-grade band playing Jingle Bells. And not just Jingle Bells – but Jingle Bells as it was meant to be heard! Straight from the low-quality recorder of a Tungsten-T PDA.

It sounds, to me, the way I think Christmas Carols must sound in Germany. Played with purpose!

It’s worth noting that one of the 5th Graders on trumpet – my son, Haydn – is now in 10th grade (and more interested in guitar).

Relive the magic of a past Christmas.

Rock on!

  1. Dangit Delmer… I couldn’t help but listen and laugh thinking about the German feeling those kids enfused into the music. How am I supposed to be a Grinch now?

    I can’t believe you were ever a Grinch. :)
