If you’ve been coming by here for any amount of time at all you’ll not be surprised that the event advertised below is not really my cup of tea in any way, shape or form.

Having said that, there’s something about the third line from the bottom that tickles me.

110309-Pats

It’s the one-stop event for your survivalist who needs some instruction on field stripping his AK-47 blindfolded as well as the guy who might wonder if it’s OK to plant pole beans in the same row as his corn.

(For the record, I’m for gun ownership. I don’t want to mislead everybody.)

Guess I won’t be allowed in.

Although I love how both gardening and weapons are mentioned in the same sentence. I’ve used a hoe and rake to kill things before, so that makes sense.

  2. Softy says:

Is the gardening part for their women? Women need stuff to do to, you know.

  3. Sybil Law says:

    That is hilarious!
We should totally go. It would be funny! Not FUN, probably, but definitely funny!

  4. Nat says:

Atheist don’t need gun I guess. We have SATAN!

  5. delmer says:

    Rebecca: Indeed.

Marty: I’ve used a shovel to put field mice into an extreme deep sleep (as a favor to it as my dog was working him over).

Softy: … and, as men carry big guns to make up for other shortcomings, gardening might be their best chance for stress relief.

    Sybil: Most certainly, funny.

Nat: I read that with a little bit of Church Lady thrown in (which, I think, was how you meant it.)

  6. Michael says:

Does “God fearing” only include Christians? I’m Christian, but I don’t fear God.

Visiting Australians, Canadians, etc are not welcome either, by the sounds of it.

  7. delmer says:

Michael: No Aussies. No Cannucks. No Brits. They think they’re keeping others out but I prefer to think they’re keeping the closed-mindedness in.
