I’ve been married for almost five months now.
Like most married men I see women in the following fashion:
- My beautiful and adorable wife
- A generic group of people who remain featureless to me to the point that they all look the same
At least that’s what I used to think.
If you have a computer, and you obviously do, and your on-line life involves more than just coming to What’s a Delmer Look Like (which many people might say is more of an on-line life than is necessary) you’ve likely seen ads that say things like <your city> Mom loses 54 pounds following one simple secret (my thought is the one simple secret might be “burn more calories than you take in” but I’ve never clicked through) and Obama asks moms to go back to school.
The ads often have a picture accompanying them. For example, here’s one of the “back to school ads.”
You’ll notice the compelling ad copy is accompanied by a picture of a generic-looking female person about whom I have no opinion when it comes to appearance as all women, again, look alike to me.
Or so I thought.
And not only had I thought all women looked alike to me, aside from my beautiful and adorable wife (or, as I say when she and I are alone “The Canuck I’d like to hold hands with while taking long walks along the beach”), but I’d thought that was a good plan when it came to ads as the photo wouldn’t detract from the compelling ad copy.
And then I came across the same ad with a different woman pictured. A woman who was so unattractive, to me, that it was a severe detraction to the compelling ad copy.
That gal should be doing ads along the line of Obama Frees Up Cash for Electrolysis Clinics.
Her brother, though, is perfect in the following:
Men I’d like to.. wha?
You make me laugh. Again.
Have a great Thanksgiving!!
“Mothers I’d Like to Send to School.” Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
Your “beautiful and adorable wife” reads this, doesn’t she? I agree with you, of course.
I believe she is a regular reader.
Hahaha! I love it
