Had I been a better blogger I’d have announced this a while back. As it is, I’ve been busy fixing my computer, working on my garage, and generally just behind (thus no announcement that this is Bike to Work Week… I’ve biked the two non-rainy days so far).
Before go any further let me say if you’ve ever had a beer with a Ledoux be sure to read this through.
Anyway, Marty over at Banalleakage, has been holding a “Name the Scooter Contest.” He even put together this sweet badge.
Marty has been putting up well-produced and entertaining Scooter Sunday videos for two seasons now and has always referred to his scooter as the scooter. Lady Penelope, being British and therefore having a sincere need for Internet tidiness, suggested Marty hold a “Name the Scooter” contest as “anything a man spends that much time on deserves a proper name.”
The hard part of the contest – the actually thinking up of names – is over (my apologies for not blogging about this earlier and letting you in on that part) leaving the easy click-to-choose part.
There are some very awesome names to choose from. One of them (well, three really) is one I entered.
To suggest you vote for one of my names would be wrong, so I won’t.
But vote; it’ll make you feel warm and fuzzy.

I think you should hook up a camera to your bike and share videos of your rides. Come on, admit it…you’re harboring deep desires to do it!
Your name/s have to be better than my suggestions! I’ll go see, now…
Missy: I’ve been trying to figure out how to hook a camera up to the bike for a while. I’ve got to believe that videos of mile after mile of corn and soybeans are just the thing to take WADLL to the next blogging level.
Sybil: I don’t know … two of mine were after cartoon characters. (Kickass cartoon characters, but still, cartoons.)
Your scooter buddy shows his camera rig here: http://www.banalleakage.com/20.....monday-21/. I’ve been wanting a scooter for years, so maybe I’ll try to make one of these camera stands IF I ever get a scooter.
So Scott and myself wont take it personally that you did not ask us on how to mount a camera to your bike.
Looks like Missy found the post that showed how I made the mount. Pretty simple, actually. Plus the mount should work on anything with a handlebar.
Thank you for this lead, Delmer. Very much appreciated. Sorry your name didn’t get picked to be in the final 3. I liked the idea behind it. Very cool.
And thank you for the props on the videos. They are no only fun to make, but also fun to hear how others like them.
Missy: Thanks for digging that up.
MikeO: Ask? I expect you to sense I have a need then track me down.
Marty: I can’t believe I didn’t win. I’ve been on a roll … Taco Bell, chicken in a bar, Tim Hortions. Ah well, it couldn’t last.
