I’ll start this post by saying today I bought turkey for 29 cents a pound. This won’t come as news to Americans, but it might take the international readers by surprise.
I didn’t need a coupon or anything. Well, except to buy $30 in additional food items.
In other news, today was the Ohio State/Michigan game. OSU won and did so in a fashion that kept my numbers, 7 (Michigan) and 1 (Ohio State), from doing me any good. Those of you who have ever been in a football pool will recognize that 7 and 1 are pretty good numbers. They’re even better if you know OSU scored 21. I didn’t watch the game, I went shopping (please see the “turkey” reference above).
Prior to scoring the turkey I scored some Oriented Strand Board, a circular saw blade and some jigsaw blades.
I spent the afternoon sawing and hammering and I can still touch type. If that’s not good enough all by itself, it was about 65F (18C) and sunny while I was sawing and hammering. Tomorrow will see more of the same, activity and weather-wise.
I’d ask you to ship us a turkey if it could be refrigerated. I’ll need a personal loan to buy a bird for Christmas.
I cannot WAIT to eat a turkey. It’s my favorite holiday, by far.
As a Michigan fan (born in Ann Arbor), I’d rather discuss your excellent turkey purchase. Good job, D!
Michael: I didn’t realize how good we had it until I started spending all the time in Canada. One of my in-laws told me a store in The States was advertising turkeys in a Montreal paper.
Sybil: Turkey is tops!
HeatherD: Well, as you know, were it not for the fact I was in a pool I’d be totally clueless about the score of the game.
