When your friends know you too well

I was on the phone the other day with a friend who happens to be a woman. It was a warm day, she'd been working in her yard and had worked up a sweat.

"I've got all this work to do in the yard and I can't wear a tank top," she modestly complained. "I'm hot enough to wear a tank top ..."

"Wuh ..." I started.

"I mean in a human-furnace sort of way," she said, cutting me off as she assumed I was on my way to saying, "Well, that goes without saying."

And I was.

Her neighbors are having some work done on their house and she didn't want to be outside falling out of a tank top and being ogled.

To beat the heat she decided to suds up her car in a bikini while blasting the soundtrack to Boogie Nights.

It's nice to be kind to neighbors, but sometimes you just got to wash the car with an appropriate soundtrack not much clothing on.

Damn, my neighbours would just be happy if I did yard work, a tank top would be an added stylistic bonus.

Hehehehe! I can must picture you saying, "Wuh.." into the phone.

Marty: I don't know that I could pull off the not-much-clothing-on thing; I'd probably need a really kick-ass soundtrack.

Cheryl: Don't let your neighbo(u)rs fool you. If you start doing yard work -- tank top, no tank top, or nude -- they'll just find something else to complain about. (Neighbors are like that.)

Ms.Q: Probably because you know me too well (in an extreme-distance sort of way).
