Weinermobile

I stepped out of the house this afternoon and, lo and behold, there in the Dairy Queen parking lot was the Oscar Mayer Weiner Weinermobile.

Not since the Aunt Jane's Pickle Picklemobile has a vehicle held such fascination for me. It must have been toward the end of the 60's when Aunt Jane's Pickles was running a commercial that went, "Get an Aunt Jane's Pickle ... Picklemobile ..." I remember the tune though not all the words. I also remember that a child-size auto was featured in the commercial -- and, I think, I could have been the proud owner of one for the right amount of cash and pickle-jar labels.

Google didn't turn up anything for Aunt Jane's Pickle Picklemobile.

Oh well. The Weinermobile is easy enough to find. Or at least it was this afternoon.

The boys and I shot over to DQ just as the Weinermobile was getting ready to depart. The boys got Oscar Mayer whistles and we got a good look at the Weinermobile.

To celebrate our good fortune we decided to have lunch at DQ. The Wells men know how to party.

We had that thing at my former place of business many years ago. There's no way to look at it driving down the street without smiling.

We have one of the original Aunt Jane's Picklemobiles. If you would like pics or would be interested in buying it contact us. It's in great shape the only thing missing is the rubber balloon fron the horn. My wife won this as a little girl back in the early 60's. The Drawing was held by the local IGA Food Store.
