The Jimmy Castor Bunch

What we're gonna do right here is go back, way back, back into time. When the only people that existed were troglodytes...cave men...cave women...Neanderthal...troglodytes.

Well, we're not going back that far. That's the only way I could make The Jimmy Castor Bunch work as a title.

Today we'll travel back in time about 12 months.

I was dropping Samson off at Summer Day Care last year about this time. Sammo had separation issues and wasn't always terribly happy to be left at Day Care though, the staff assured me, that minutes after I was gone he was cheerful and in the thick of things.

This particular morning when I dropped Sam off I stuck my head in the office to say "hello" to Jada and Sarah. After I took Sam to the science room (home to the pet rabbit he was fond of) I went back to the office to work out some details with the women.

As I stood there talking to them something didn't feel just right. I had this feeling that my zipper might be down. But it couldn't be, could it? Surely I would have noticed earlier. Surely Jada or Sarah would have said something.

I was reluctant to reach down and Michael Jackson myself in front of the women. And, again, the fly couldn't really be open. Yet, there was that feeling.

Finally I said, "Excuse me," and I turned my back to the women. Yes. The fly was down. I zipped it up and exclaimed, "Girls! You could have said something about my zipper!"

"Well, we didn't want to embarrass you," one of them said.

"I told Samson to tell you your zipper was down," the other chimed in.

Thank god it wasn't a Friday. I go commando then.
